Any one who wants to sing is welcome, regardless of experience.
Bring a song to share or just enjoy songs that others bring.
Songs may range from very simple to layered songs and all songs will be shared with the intention of a group sing-along.
Donations to the host are welcome and appreciated but not required.
Why Sing?
In addition to fast-tracking social bonding by building connection and a sense of togetherness, singing also has major health benefits.
Singing is shown to enhance memory, concentration, and mental alertness and is being brought into dementia care.
It improves lung capacity and breathing conditions- like snoring and long covid effects.
Singing improves mental and physical health and self-confidence by releasing endorphins, serotonin and dopamine into the body
which also lowers stress levels.
It even acts as a mild aerobic activity by introducing more oxygen into the blood and increasing the body's circulation.
Also, people who sing are shown to have higher levels of immunoglobulin A which is an antibody that helps the body fend off
infections- thus increasing the body's immune system.
So we sing because it feels good and it's good for us!
