As a Threshold Doula, Terra Currie Feather serves as direct emotional, mental, and physical support to individuals or families wanting, approaching, or experiencing a life-changing transition such as marriage, birth and postpartum, puberty and menses, death and grieving, and supports with overall health and wellness intentions.

Terra's flexibility, creativity, and compassion ensures clients recieve uniquely tailored care. This care comes as coaching sessions, classes, workshops, ceremonies or rituals, and/or direct hands on transition support based on a clients personal experience, desires and needs.

Marriage

What does Marriage mean to you? What wedding traditions or rituals resonate for you? How do you want yourself and others to remember your ceremony? These questions and others help Terra support clients in developing and implementing their wedding visions and vows. Terra is available to officiate ceremonies as well as help with couples communication.




Birth and Postpartum

Birth preparation: Terra works in the Birthing from Within tradition and helps birthing people gather pain coping and decision-making tools as they prepare for labor and the journey of parenting. Each two hour session may be virtual or in-person, depending on needs and circumstances.

• Pain coping: Practice techniques with your birth partner to build a pain coping mindset for labor.
• Laborynth: Learn to use the labyrinth as a metaphorical map for labor and delivery. The labyrinth offers a way to explore the unexpected twists and turns of birth. There's no right or wrong way to birth!
• Birth Art: Birth art activities can offer unexpected insights that may transform the way you look at and experience birth. They are about the process, not the product, and they can be fun too!

DIY placenta encapsulation: Supporting you and/or your birth partner in obtaining and processing your own placenta for dehydration and encapsulation.

Birth packages: These usually include three birth preparation visits (with at least one of these in-person at your home) and my support through labor and delivery until baby and parents feel ready for me to leave.

Sliding scale: If you can pay more, this enables someone else with more limited resources to recieve birth doula support.

Puberty & Menses

The both internal and external transistion into young adulthood is also both sudden and slow moving for many youth and families. Terra is available to facilitate youth and parent classes for individuals, families, or friend group and to offer mentor support for youth and parents. Terra can also support individuals and families in creating and implementing tailored ceremonies honoring this transition. If a client is interested in hosting menstruation or red tent spaces, Terra is also available to either facilitate or support the project.

Death & Grieving

In many ways, death is quite similar to birth. Dying is in it's own way a being born into the unknown. And sometimes, grief is completely unrelated to physical death but in it's own way is still a kind of dying. Through the framework of a sacred cycle of life, death, and rebirth, Terra offers grief processing, space for crying, direct support, and emotional connection in the difficult and hallowed experience of dying or grieving. She also helps prepare and facilitate grieving, releasing, and funery ceremonies as clients desire.

Health & Wellness

Terra supports clients to develop a wellness plan that may include but is not limited to: excercise and movement, plant and food as medicine diets, and mindset. She helps clients find and celebrate successes. In addition to yoga, Terra has studied and practiced various styles of dance, theatrical movement, and massage over the years as well as studying herbal medicine and wellness with Joe Hollis of Mountain Gardens Herbs. This diversity of study offers depth to sessions on about breath, movement, and body awareness. Terra's support meets each client at their own fitness level and helps gently increase their flexibility, stamina, and strength, while decreasing their general stress levels. This support is available to individuals or friend groups who would like to work together on their fitness goals.
